About Abbey

Kia ora my fellow coffee lovers, My pronouns are She/Her. I am currently entering my second year at Massey Wellington, halfway through my BA in Creative Media Production, Focusing on Producing and Directing, with any story that challenges the status quo and is centred around people.

Growing up my mum, a single parent of 3 under 5 always had an old camcorder out recording everything myself and my brothers did. These family videos have now become very calming, therapeutic and somewhat melancholy experiences that we watch somewhat religiously. Looking at these videos in a new light, one of my mother’s way of dealing with situations was to document them. This blossoms my love for storytelling through a video form. I have a very enquiring mind and I believe visual storytelling allows you to see and relate with the rawest form of oneself. Opening the viewers subconscious to themes, issues and deep routed thoughts that can change a person point of view. I find something fascinating in the act of looking/reflecting on the past in relation to the present and future.
